well i went today to pick up my block and here she is. shes dirty right now but with some cleaner, paint and some elbow grease she'll be lookin brand new. crank = out for you john =]. looking to put type r pistons,stock b16 rods and a gsr head hopefully we will see as far as cash goes. but ne ways here she is my JDM b16

make sure you store that crank sitting upright!!! dont lay it on its side like that!! it will warp the crank

Codiene you do realize that the only major difference between the USDM B16 and the JDM B16 is the intake cam. The JDM one is slightly larger that the USDM spec intake cam.

Anyone know someone selling an extra VQ rev-up motor?

actually the JDM b16 has slightly higher compression(very very little) and the intake mani is diff as well as the cams.. but who cares. JDM block FTW!!

LOL I forgot about the JDM factor. Yeah but that higher compression isnt enough to really notice anything I dont think. Ahh yes I did forget the intake mani... damn its been awhile since Ive been in the Honda world lol. I remember comparing the JDM and UDSM intake mani... just cant remember the differences off hand... something to do with the locations of some shit and something else haha.

Edit.. are you going to be keeping that b16 head and using it or are you going to scrap it for another one?

yeah dom, the differences are very very little, nothing to make a fuss about. the manifolds are close to the same, but I guess the JDM B16 mani has slighty larger runners to comply with the change in Cam profiles... the changes are ever so slight, so the power increase/decrease between the 2 are not anothing to go ape shit over, if any change at all it even noticable other then on a dyno.

Main diff is that fact that JDM setups run higher octane and more agressive timing in their setups then our run of the mill USDM motors. Its odd the amount of JDM blocks I have seen floating around latly. My 99 Si was running a JDM B16 block, but as you know it was sleeved.

im picking up gsr rods and pistons hopefully this weekend if eric goes to tampa. probably going to turn around and trade them for stock b16 rods and pistons + cash. so we'll see.
